Thanksgiving is a time of showing our gratitude so why not make it part of your dinner activities. These placemats are the perfect way to get your dinner crowd to open up and start a conversation.
Sometimes the simple things are more meaningful. That’s how I feel about these Thanksgiving placemats. So simple yet so powerful.
For these placemats I used brown craft paper that I buy on a roll but you can easily recycle your paper grocery bags too. To get the perfect shape I traced around a placemat I already had at home but you could cut them into any shape or size. *TIP to remember – If your paper is wrinkled or curved under from being on a roll just iron it and magically it will be perfectly flat and not roll up. Then decide on a saying and whether or not you want any lines for messages and then have fun adding a personal touch to your own unique placemats. I used a paint marker but a Sharpie or any marker or crayon or pencil will work too. Get creative and see where it takes you.
When you sit down to your Thanksgiving Feast have everyone spend a few moments to reflect on what they are truly thankful for and write something down. This would be a fun time to have everyone share their thoughts out loud too. I have so many things to be thankful for it would be hard to fit it on this little paper. Today I am thankful for my creativity. It’s opened so many doors for me and brings me joy. What are you thankful for?
