I still have more burlap and am looking for some creative ways to use it. These Burlap and Buttons Napkin Rings were so fun to make that I decided to make more!
They’re so simple too! Here is what you need to do to make some of your own Burlap and Buttons Napkin Rings.
Burlap is such a versatile fabric that mixes well with many decorating styles, colors, and textures- making it a great base to add your own touches to, in this case cute little buttons. These fun and casual napkin rings are perfect for everyday meals or special dinners to add a touch of softness and whimsy to your table scape. Chose colors that compliment your home decor and they can be used all year round. Use season specific patterns or colors for buttons or ribbon accents to create the mood for your holiday dinners for a more festive touch.
Cut burlap in to strips that are 2 ½” x 6”
Pull a few threads from all 4 sides to fray slightly.
Sew all the way around on sewing machine a ¼” in to stop fraying and give your rings a finished off and more polished look.
Roll napkin ring into a circle overlapping the end 1”, and then add a dab of hot glue to hold in place while sewing, or take a stitch using needle and thread.
Sew 3 buttons by hand to the area you overlapped your burlap ends.
Trim off all loose threads, slide ring over your cloth napkins and they are ready to dress up your table.
They are so simple to make that it would be easy to do a lot of them for a party or large dinner. They’d look great on the table alongside the Burlap Table Runner I made this year or the Turkey Table Runner I made for the Thanksgiving Table. What do you think? Do you like to match everything at your table or do you like the mismatched look better?
