Sharing my best tips on How To Become A Morning Exerciser!
Here are my best tips!
Working out in the morning will energize you for the rest of the day, jump start your metabolism, and gets you up and moving while most people are still in bed. It can be hard to get out of the bed early in the morning when all you want to do is hit the snooze button, but if you make it a habit, soon enough you won’t think twice about it. Here are a few tips to get you started:
Lay out your clothes. The night before, pack your gym bag and lay out your clothes. Better than that would be wearing your gym clothes to bed! That way you really have no excuse when the alarm goes off. Going along with this, pack everything you’ll need in the morning. You need to make it as easy as possible to just get up and go.
Go to sleep. This is an obvious tip, right? Yet once your body is accustomed to sleeping at a certain time, it can be harder to switch your sleeping time. Instead of making a drastic change, try to go to sleep 10 minutes earlier each night until you get to the new time you want to go to bed. Your body needs around 7-8 hours of sleep each night, especially if you will be exercising.
Make sure to warm up. After around 8 hours of laying in bed, a good warm up is necessary. Your muscles and joints will be stiff, and it’s important to warm them up properly before you exercise. Start with dynamic stretches, like high knees and arm circles, and then gradually work up to your workout.
Grab a workout buddy. If you know your friend is waiting for your at the gym at 6 a.m., are you really going to bail? Having a workout or running buddy holds you accountable. Plus, catching up with a friend is a great way to start your day.
Take a class. If your motivation is really lacking in the morning, sign up for a fitness class. It takes out all of the work in creating a workout for yourself. All you have to do is simply show up and follow the instructor.
Reward yourself. Who isn’t motivated by money? Each time you complete your goal of waking up in the morning and working out, put a dollar in a jar. Save up and treat yourself to some new workout clothes or sneakers. You can also reward yourself by having a special breakfast ready after your workout, such as a delicious omelet or warm oatmeal…and a warm drink of course!
Working out in the morning can be very rewarding. You get your workout out of the way, and start your day off on the right foot. It may also influence the choices you make throughout the day. If you already exercised, you may be less apt to make unhealthy food choices. Once you do it for a few weeks, your body will become accustomed and you’ll feel great. Personally my favorite reasons are first because it’s so quiet before everyone else is up and second because you see many incredible sunrises that everyone else misses! When do you like to work out?
