My latest recipe creation of SNICKERS® Peanut Butter Squares Cookies has been a story in the making since I was a little girl myself. This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WhenImHungry #CollectiveBias
Do you ever find yourself baking after midnight? In my world this usually happens because I’m “hangry”! You know that panicked feeling when your anger of being hungry kicks in and you can’t even think clearly? That’s who I am when I’m hungry, a hangry monster that can’t even think straight and succumbs to the demands of teenagers wanting to bake in the middle of the night! This is usually brought on by having teenagers and young adults in the house who are up late on weekends watching movies. After midnight is when the fun happens and you are busy in the kitchen making treats to satisfy that craving and spend priceless quality time with them too.
Well my midnight baking adventures happened again when we found ourselves at the neighborhood Circle K where I spied these great new SNICKERS® candy bars! This is where my own childhood memories come to light. My dad is the biggest fan of SNICKERS® on the planet and because of that it’s always been the candy bar that I turn to first when that chocolate bar attack hits! So we’re in the store and I get a great idea for a new cookie creation blending my favorite classic old fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies with this crazy good new Peanut Butter Square candy bar. The recipe, and this combination of flavors, turned out so amazing that I had to share it with my friends. So here it is.
SNICKERS® Peanut Butter Squares Cookies
1 Cup softened butter
1 Cup smooth peanut butter
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1 Cup granulated sugar
4 single SNICKERS® Peanut Butter Squares or 1 king size bar/package
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 Cups flour
Cream together butter and peanut butter. Then add and cream together both of the sugars. Now beat in eggs, vanilla and baking soda. Next mix in the flour and blend together very well. Finally chop up the 4 Peanut Butter Squares into tiny pieces and fold into the batter.
Now roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place a few inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Take a fork and press each cookie ball down in a criss-cross pattern. Bake in a preheated 375 degree F oven for 10 minutes. Once out of the oven, cool on a cookie rack and then store in an air tight container to keep them fresh longer. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
Doesn’t this cookie look and sound delicious? I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into it. That wonderful flavor of the all time favorite peanut butter cookie but with a little twist that gives it a hint of something different but you’re not sure what it is until you hear the secret added ingredient! Do you have a childhood cookie or candy memory that influenced the way you bake or crave treats today? I’d really love to hear all about it so tell me!
