Do you love reading on the go? I do, but have a new love for it, thanks to my last trip and Barnes & Noble. My Adventures in Reading With The NOOK GlowLight Plus might change your mind too! Here’s why.
You all know just how much I love to read and travel so you’ll know how excited I was when I was generously sent, THANK YOU Barnes & Noble, the brand new NOOK GlowLight Plus eReader just in time to try it out. Although I am an avid reader, this was something new for me, because I am one of those “old school” types who loves to touch real books. Or so I thought! My family has been reading on their mobile devices for some time. I’m now a believer and am not sure why it took me so long to switch to reading on the go with my beautiful sleek NOOK eReader. Here’s my story.
I recently returned from a business trip with my husband. Well you know me, he had important business all week and I did work online while I played! First thing I did was pack my getaway bag. A few things I never travel without are my passport, phone, wallet, sunglasses, something to read, a cute scarf, flip flops and definitely a hat. I also have the problem of packing way too much. Do you? I and can never decide what to read so my bag is usually stuffed with magazines and books, leaving only a tiny bit of space left for everything else. So the biggest reason for loving the NOOK is the size of it! Look at it compared to the book. It’s close to the size of my phone but is large enough for my little old eyes to easily read. I can load up all of my books and magazines and even the newspaper and have it in the palm of my hand. I was amazed at the space this saved me!
When I travel I never pass up the chance to lay out and relax by the pool. That’s probably one of my favorite things to do at home too. The new NOOK GlowLight Plus was so magical that it’s anti glare technology really saved me when I was reading in the sun. Glare is a real problem for my little old tired eyes too.
When I have a fun getaway I love to spend time relaxing in the hammock or on a chair on a sandy beach anywhere! Two of the most important things to me when traveling are finding a great place to take pictures and finding the perfect spot to read. My NOOK was perfect on this trip to because I could sit in the sand and not worry about ruining it, since it’s dust proof.
Sometimes when I’m away I get a little crazy and try something new! I went kayaking one day and my NOOK could go along with me because it’s waterproof so I didn’t have to worry about it. My only worry was for ME going overboard because this was my first time. I survived and loved it and can’t wait to go kayaking again!
Lucky me got to spend a day exploring and guess where I ended up? I loved that my NOOK was small enough to pack in my backpack so I have something to read while waiting in lines, eating meals, and relaxing while I wait for the parades. These are important things when you go out exploring alone and don’t have anyone else to talk to!
Oh the places I’ll go now with my NOOK! I loved it so much it’s going at the top of the Christmas list for a few people I know and love. I’m curious now and have lots of questions for you! How do you read on the go, mobile or paper? What is your favorite thing to read? Where will YOU go next? Most important though, which reading location of my trip did you like best?
