If you love pancakes and Christmas then you will love my fun Christmas Tree Pancakes!
All who know me know how much I love to make pancakes for my family. Remember my favorite Pumpkin Pancake Saga that ended up with my now famous recipe? Or my sister’s famous German Pancakes that my children love so much? Well here is a new fun holiday tradition that also involves pancakes.
Here’s the recipe and what you need to know.
Christmas Tree Pancakes Ingredients –
1 C. flour
2 tbs. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 large egg
1 C. milk
green food coloring
Christmas colored sprinkles (or multi-colored sprinkles)
small yellow star (optional; you can draw a star on a piece of paper and color it yellow)
Measuring cups (if you do not have individual measuring cups, simply use the measurements on a regular 1 cup measuring cup)
#1. Heat a large griddle or frying pan with non-stick cooking spray.
#2. Once it is heated, use out approximately 3/4 cup of pancake batter and pour it into the griddle/pan. This will be the largest pancake and the tree base. Cook until golden brown on the bottom and the top bubbles. Flip and cook until the bottom is light brown.
#2. Next, use the 1/2 cup measuring cup to measure out the pancake batter and pour it onto the griddle, cooking until golden brown.
#3. Repeat steps #2 and #3 with the smaller measuring cups.
#4. Once all the pancakes are cooked, gently stack them to resemble a Christmas tree. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and multi-colored sprinkles.
#5. Use the toothpick to hold your small star in place (optional).
*Serve with butter and syrup is you wish.
*Note – I had just enough batter to make the 4 measurements listed above, I did have to scrape the bowl.
Fun and simple isn’t it? Do you like making or eating pancakes better? What is your favorite type of pancake? Will you be making any soon?
