I’m loving Summer and these Patriotic M&M Crunch Brownie Bars!
Who else loves Summer? One of the best parts of it is enjoying family, food, fireworks and fun on the Fourth of July. Remember my Patriotic Flag Waffles? Well this year this yummy treat is the perfect thing to bring to your 4th of July family picnic. You’ll love how easy this recipe is because it starts out with a box mix. Once you add the secret ingredients know one will know it came out of a box. So here’s my twist to the ordinary brownie that is simple but tastes extraordinary.
Patriotic M&M Crunch Brownie Bars
1 box brownie mix and ingredients to make brownies (oil, water, eggs)
1 cup chopped dry roasted, lightly salted peanuts
2/3 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup M&M candies
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13×9 inch baking pan and set aside.
Prepare brownies according to package directions and spread into prepared pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine nuts, oats, sugar and melted butter. Stir to mix well. Mixture will be crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. Sprinkle with M&M candies.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until center is set. Cut into squares when completely cool.
Makes 24 brownies.
Yummy! You could use any holiday themed or plain M&M’s but this patriotic bag looked perfect for July. This recipe definitely needs to be added to my Patriotic Snacks for Kids list and my Fourth of July Party Recipes too!
So what are you doing on the Fourth of July? Do you have any special treats that you usually make for Summer picnics? I’d love to hear all about them!
